"Despite the fact that Hamlet's crazy behavior was at one point planned and controlled, it is arguable that at some point he stops pretending and actually goes insane. This is evidenced by his lack of remorse when he kills Polonius, his obsession with death and murder, and his attack on Laertes in Ophelia's grave."
