It would seem logical that the universe is far too vast for existence on this planet to be the extent of life?

The problem is that we can't prove that parallel universes exist or for that matter anything that isn't brutally logical exists out there. And if it can't be proved it doesn't exist. You can't just say that something exists that we can't see and it's a portal to all eternity. It has to be proved with irrefutable evidence that our senses can experience. Speculation about even the existence of a microbe anywhere else in the universe is meaningless. Nothing exists until it is proven to exist, I don't want to hear about the Drake Equation or any other unprovable odds of microbial life, let alone advanced civilizations. Dark matter and antimatter are myths as well if it can't be proven that anything supernatural exists in conjunction with them.
