If Gaelic Football were to make it big?

in America or any other big Country, could that Country make Gaelic there professional if it still wasn't professional here, or would everyone have to agree to it, especially the GAA, was just wondering it after seeing Gaelic played in America and I can't imagine many Americans would let it be amateur for long if it ever did become a big sport?!
