Would sweet potato be horrible in vegetable soup?

I'm making a vegetable soup - carrot, leek, onion, broth, lentils, vegetable stock and i'm adding potato but i prefer sweet potato as i'm on a healthy eating regime, sweet potato is better for you so do you think it would be nice with that or not?
