Help, I can't get my computer out of safe mode?

Well. I was on Facebook, i noticed it was thundering outside so i pulled the power cord out of the inlet. As soon as i did that the computer started making this weird dum dum dum sound and the screen went blue with print all on it. It "dumped" all of my data into a special file/place. I paniced and pulled the battery out, after the dump, because i couldn't get it to restart. It wouldn't cut on for like a minute, and then after trying again it came on. It offer me the choice of safe mode or normal mode. I clicked safe. Now im stuck and can't get out of it. What do I do? (when it was in blue screen mode it suggested i press f8 so i did) If you need any more details than this i'll add them later. Thanks to anyone and every one who reads and helps.
